The proposed rule is a part of continued attacks on international students and scholars by the Trump administration, designed to add layers of bureaucracy to an already daunting and complicated process thereby discouraging international students and scholars from contributing to research and teaching in the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier this month, UAW Locals across the country joined together to organize an information session with an immigration lawyer on this proposed rule\u2014you can view the recording <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/UAWLocal4121\/videos\/1274103766271213\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
