Our\u00a0digital<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0in-person<\/a> picket lines are on their eighth day! Today\u2019s in-person picketing will be at CUMC (W 168th and Fort Washington) outside of the Hammer Health Sciences Building<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, in order to qualify for the strike benefits, you need to perform at least 10 hours a week of picketing duty. If you need an exemption, you can check off that box in the sign-up form. Our digital and in-person picket lines are open to everyone. Bring friends and let\u2019s keep showing in large numbers!<\/p>\n

Columbia does not pay its workers on time, yet the administration says they plan to dock pay from those who are on strike fighting for better working conditions and a more accessible Columbia. In light of the University refusing to address a number of key issues at the table, including access to real recourse through neutral arbitration in cases of sexual harassment and discrimination and paying its student workers a living wage, while using intimidation in an effort to break our strike, GWC-UAW is launching\u00a0this petition<\/a>\u00a0to put pressure on the Columbia administration to expedite reaching a fair agreement for student workers and back down from intimidation tactics.
