{"id":4573,"date":"2021-05-14T22:27:38","date_gmt":"2021-05-14T22:27:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/columbiagradunion.org\/?p=4573"},"modified":"2021-05-14T22:27:38","modified_gmt":"2021-05-14T22:27:38","slug":"gwc-uaw-local-2110-unit-bylaws-drafting-and-ratification-vote-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/columbiagradunion.org\/2021\/05\/14\/gwc-uaw-local-2110-unit-bylaws-drafting-and-ratification-vote-process\/","title":{"rendered":"GWC-UAW local 2110 unit bylaws drafting and ratification vote process"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>GWC-UAW local 2110 unit bylaws drafting and ratification vote process<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Invitation to contribute to GWC-UAW local 2110 unit bylaws is hereby declared open: All eligible Union supporters [any Columbia graduate and undergraduate student who is currently employed by the University according to the categories outlined by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Columbia decision (i.e. graduate and undergraduate Teaching Assistants, Teaching Fellows, Preceptors, Course Assistants, Readers, Graders, Graduate Research Assistants [including those on Training Grants], and All Departmental Research Assistants)] who have signed a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/columbiagradunion.us13.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=bf112f248486fb48a139e6aa2&amp;id=c68a8a9687&amp;e=fb615e4285\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GWC-UAW authorization card<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are invited to contribute to our current <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/19NttSB0e8XY5RP0n7BaFonteXIYMGEE5ydMcBRDeon0\/edit?usp=sharing\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">draft bylaws<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, by 5pm on Friday, June 4th, 2021. A vote for ratifying the unit bylaws will start on Saturday, June 19th at 9:00 AM EST and end on Saturday, July 3rd at 9:00 PM EST, via electronic voting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Membership is invited to contribute through commenting on the current draft, sending suggestions to the Process Working Group\u2019s email <\/span><a href=\"mailto:gwcbylaws@gmail.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gwcbylaws@gmail.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and attending weekly workshops for participating in the drafting process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drafting period timeline is:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">May 15-21 Open input from GWC members. Members can submit comments on the current draft or submit whole new Articles or a whole new draft of the bylaws. Two workshops will take place on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/us02web.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tZcqf-CorzkjHtOU_LS4NC99VM7SN_Hs1rN8\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tuesday, May 18th, 2021, at 7:00pm EST<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/us02web.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tZIkce6prTkrGdNjY4KQvx5tYS8aX4drwbgG\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesday, May 19th, 2021, at 10:00am EST<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">May 22-28 &#8211; PWG will use input from week 1 to put together (an) updated draft(s) of the bylaws. This will be presented at two workshops that will take place this week.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">May 29-June 4\u00a0 &#8211; Two more workshops.
