With Jerry Garson, CPA
Monday, 7/13, 11:00-12:15PM
RSVP HERE

Please join Jerry Garson, CPA, and the International Students Working Group, for a discussion of things to keep in mind when filing taxes as an international student and scholar. Issues covered may include the substantial presence test, determination of residency status, applicability of tax treaties, and foreign bank accounts, or other topics.

We will be referring to the IRS’s Publication 4011: Foreign Student and Scholar Resource Guide. Please do your best to review this guide before asking your question, since it may be covered in there. Please register and send your questions in via the registration form by Saturday to ensure that we are more likely to cover them. Due to time constraints, we may not be able to cover all questions.

Please note that we will not be discussing how to use Sprintax, Columbia’s contracted international student tax-filing software. This is only a discussion of the topics covered, and is not legal, tax, or financial advice.

Please RSVP by filling out this form. There will be a zoom link on the form submission page. Be sure to copy it and bookmark it! We will also email everyone before the event. Questions submitted before Saturday via the RSVP form are likeliest to be answered. We may not be able to answer all questions.
