Today’s rally has been moved to 11:30 AM. We will be joined on the in-person picket line by Jamaal Bowman, who was formerly an educator and is a member of the United Federation of Teachers.
Come out and join us in person on the picket line from 10 AM-2 PM at 116th and Broadway so that we can use this opportunity to put as much pressure on Columbia as possible. Sign up here.
Our next General Body Meeting is scheduled for today, Friday, April 2, 3-4:30 PM ET (registration link).
Due Today: First Round of Hardship Fund Applications
Undergraduate students supportive of our strike have started a hardship fund, separate from the UAW Strike Fund. This need-based fund will be distributed by a Hardship Fund Committee of GWC. You can apply for the hardship fund at this link—apply today to be considered in the first round of applications. If you have any questions about the application process, or if you would like to get involved with the hardship committee, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. In order to qualify, workers must spend 10 or more hours a week at the picket line, either virtual or in-person (we encourage workers to join the picket line for 20 hours or more per week). Workers who require an exemption due to time zone differences or other circumstances can apply for an exemption using either of the picket sign-up links (virtual or in-person).
