As negotiations with the University continue, we are ramping up for our potential strike. The strike deadline is set for March 15th. We invite you to our two upcoming General Body Meetings:
- Monday, March 8, 6-7:15 PM ET (registration link); and
- Tuesday, March 9, 9-10:15 AM ET (registration link).
We encourage everyone who can to attend one or both of these meetings in order to discuss the logistics of the potential strike and to hear from our Bargaining Committee on outstanding issues in bargaining. We have made great progress since Fall but we are still far apart on these articles and need to put pressure on Columbia so that they do the right thing.
In addition, we are launching a sign-up for in-person picket lines here. The sign-up for virtual picketing will be released soon.
In order to have a strong, visible picket line, it will be important to spend as close to 20 hours per week on the line in lieu of working as possible. In addition, to qualify for strike benefits we’re asking all strikers to participate in at least 10 hours of picket line activity (in-person, virtually, or both). If you need an exemption, please check off the question in the picket line sign-up and an organizer will be in touch.
